Our Deployment and Recovery Skid System (DRS) is a modular skid and basket system, with each basket measuring 12m x 12m, with a payload of 100 tonnes.
Additional sides and a lid can be bolted to the DRS skid to form a fully enclosed basket, which can be launched and recovered by an Anchor Handler vessel. DRS can be used for a range of subsea operations, which involve the deployment and recovery of subsea assets during decommissioning and subsea construction.
DRS Skid
DRS is designed for a range of subsea operations, including the deployment and recovery of subsea assets, i.e. Christmas trees. The modular skid can be used standalone in the deployment or recovery of subsea tools or assets or used in combination with the modular basket for holding assets such as piping, scaffolding and more.
The skid allows for attachment of load points and other securing points which includes dummy wellheads; the Christmas tree placed on to a dummy wellhead attachment on the Recovery skid when deploying or recovering from the subsea.
DRS Basket
The DRS basket is ideal for debris clearance and concrete mattress recovery.
The basket can be deployed to the seabed where it can be left until full.
Once ready for recovery, the basket is winched onto the deck of an Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS) using the vessel’s winch.
The DRS skid, with or without the DRS basket, is deployed over the stern roller of an Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS) with no requirements for a Launch and Recovery System (LARS) or vessel crane. AHTS rates are significantly less than diving vessels or supply vessels, making DRS a cost-effective solution for deployment or recovery of subsea assets, tools and materials.
The DRS skid, fitted with dummy wellheads, will accommodate two Christmas Trees, larger trees can also be recovered using the DRS, overcoming problems of retrieving large trees through a vessel’s moonpool.
